Geek's Choice: Los Altos Grill

The Los Altos Grill is a neighborhood lunch and dinner tradition, and our go-to place for classic American comfort food, from hearty steaks to jalapeño cornbread. Truth be told, it’s more our dear friend Cindy’s Choice. After all, she was born and raised in Los Altos and recently chose it for her birthday lunch. Give it a go this week!

The Longest Day

With the summer solstice arriving on Thursday, we’re gearing up for the longest day of the year and debating the best backyard traditions to enjoy with family and friends!

CHIC (Pearl)

If you read our posts regularly, you know I love to entertain. So this summer, you’ll find me setting up the string lights, popping a bottle of sparkling wine, and calling some friends for a backyard soiree. It’s my way of celebrating this place we call home, where you can sit outside at night in late June and not get cold!

GEEK (Kevin)

I’ll bet you thought I was going to go with barbecue. Okay, so I’m going with barbecue. I mean, what else is there to do when the sun is out until 8:30pm and you have a few pounds of meat in the fridge that somebody (not saying who) brought home from Costco? Clean your grill, fire up the coals, and let the sizzling commence!

What’s on tap in Mountain View?

Bay Area guy Ted Kim went to Germany and came back looking for a local spot with killer food and a big selection of craft beer. He couldn’t find one. So he opened Steins Beer Garden in Downtown Mountain View. Now they host the city’s annual Oktoberfest and keep us sipping on good beer all year round!

Brunching for Dad

Every day is a chance to celebrate the fathers in our lives, but this Sunday is their special day, so let’s treat them right. Join us for a Father’s Day brunch in Mountain View, with pancakes, waffles, bacon, eggs, and of course, mimosas!

You know you want one.

We’re big-time donut connoisseurs, and one of our favorite stops is the aptly named Happy Donuts in Palo Alto. It’s easy to be happy when you’re greeted by a ginormous donut on the ceiling! Give them a try to celebrate National Donut Day.
