City Limits

Sunnyvale is a prime spot at the center of Silicon Valley. It’s home to just as many mom-and-pop businesses as tech startups – with a rich history that follows the evolution of valley from orchards to office parks. The comfy, sunny climate is blended with easy access to transit, shopping, and highly-rated schools.

With a population of over 150,000, Sunnyvale is the seventh largest city in the Bay Area and second largest in Santa Clara County. It’s a city of technology and innovation, but also quiet family neighborhoods and a diverse community. You’ll feel right at home no matter where you roam.

SUNnyvale By the Numbers

#CanneryRow

Surrounded by a multitude of orchards and a booming local fruit industry, canneries like Libby’s, Del Monte, and Schuckl’s were the largest employers in Sunnyvale for many decades. After the Libbby’s cannery closed in 1985 and was replaced with an office park, its water tower was saved and declared an historic site.

#RoosterTHistory

In 1984, a Sunnyvale tavern called The Country Store reopened as Rooster T. Feathers, a full-time comedy club. Before hosting famous comics on their way to stardom, this historic landmark was Sunnyvale's original bus stop, and in the early 1970s it was home to the beta test of the first video game, Pong.
