Chic vs. Geek: Small Improvements, Big Impact

We’re thinking of putting our home on the market when things are a little more back to “normal”. What are some small investments we can make to improve our lifestyle now, and improve our home’s value long term?

CHIC (PEARL)

First impressions are everything in selling a home quickly. Painting your front door, resurfacing your cabinets, or even using peel-and-stick wallpaper tiles are just a few examples of affordable ways to make home improvements that will attract more buyers. A fresh coat in the living room can also make a big statement. Warm, neutral colors make it easier for potential buyers to imagine themselves living there.

GEEK (KEVIN)

Buyers love tech, and I’m not just saying that because I’m the Geek. Investing in something as simple as a Nest thermostat, smart doorbell, or security camera can reduce your energy bill and make you feel safe at home. And don’t forget, curb appeal counts! According to Remodel Magazine’s 2020 Cost vs. Value report, 9 of the top 10 high-return projects were directly related to an outdoor makeover.
