Chic vs. Geek: Who's up for a pool party?

Pools have become a popular and nearly essential feature for single family homes during the pandemic while so many of us are sheltered in place. About a month ago, we had a client who sold his old home and moved into a bigger model in the Santa Teresa area of South San José. He recently asked me what he should do with a vinyl pool at the new home that has not been functional for a long time. I gave him three options:
Keep the pool and clean it up in time for Summer;
Upgrade to a fiberglass pool, or
Remodel with concrete for a more permanent fixture!
