Another month for the taxman

Procrastinators rejoice! The IRS and State Franchise Tax Board announced yesterday that they would extend the deadline — again — for most Californians to file their 2022 income taxes. You may recall that the deadline was already pushed back to in response to the deadly winter storms. The new deadline is Thursday, Nov. 16, for businesses and residents in 55 of 58 counties. Census counting deadline looms tomorrow

Have you responded to the 2020 Census? If you live in Silicon Valley, there’s more than a 75% chance that you have. But with the deadline looming on September 30th, one in four of your neighbors still hasn’t been counted. And legal challenges to extend the deadline are backed up in the courts.
