Like all of our friends and neighbors, we are heartbroken by the tragic and senseless deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Botham Jean, and so many more Americans due to racism and a focus on our perceived differences. We want to share our unwavering love and support for their families, and we ask that you join us in standing against racism, in all its forms, and doing all that we can to create a more equitable, inclusive, and empathetic world for all of our children.

We had lived in the Midwest for more than 35 years before we decided to move to the Silicon Valley, where our son's family lived. After we found ourselves uncomfortable in the two homes over six years, we thought we would give a third and final try to find a home suitable to our needs.

At the first meeting with Pearl and Kevin, we explained our situation in detail. They were patient and carefully listened to understand our somewhat unique needs.
