City Limits

Located in East San José, Evergreen has undergone an evolution from its agricultural past that is common to Santa Clara Valley neighborhoods. The area has experienced rapid development in the past few decades, which has led to multiple communities and private country clubs. It is generally bounded by Tully Road to the north, Capitol Expressway to the west, San Felipe Road to the south, and foothills to the east.

Joseph D. Grant County Park features trails overlooking the city skyline, and Brigadoon Park is a well-known attraction and home to popular cement slides. Visitors and locals enjoy shopping at nearby Eastridge Mall, golfing at The Ranch or The Villages, and airshows at Reid-Hillview Airport that hearken back to another part of Evergreen’s rich history...

SAN JOSé By the Numbers

#GLIDECOUNTRY

Evergreen was the site of gliding experiments in the early 20th century by John J. Montgomery, an important figure in pioneering aeronautics and the namesake of Montgomery Park (more to come). Montgomery's last glider, named "The Evergreen", was restored by the Smithsonian and is currently on display at the San Diego Air and Space Museum.

#ThroughTheGrapevine

The Mirassou Winery was founded in 1854 in what is now Evergreen Valley, and for many years served as an icon of the agricultural heritage of the region. The brand name “Mirassou” was purchased by Gallo in 2003, and the original vineyards have since been redeveloped into housing developments.
