Suburban comfort on the edge of the city.
City Limits
Tucked between Cambrian to the northwest, Almaden to the south, and Vista Park to the east, Blossom Valley is a cozy neighborhood of single family houses, townhomes, retail centers, and top-rated schools. The Los Capitancillos Ridge that separates it from Almaden Valley is a great place to get out and experience nature in the midst of an urban environment.
The Almaden Expressway corridor that forms the heart of Blossom Valley has undergone a substantial transformation in the past 20 years, as corner stores have given way to major retailers, but the same small town vibe remains just off the beaten track. The area is slated for even more redevelopment in the years ahead, but the City has pledged to protect its single family home neighborhoods from encroachment.

#BIGBOXES
If you’re looking for destination retail, Blossom Valley has everything you need, from Costco to Best Buy to Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Just be careful not to get stuck in traffic shuttling between the different shopping centers.
#ENDOFTHELINE
Blossom Valley serves as a transit hub for southwest San José and marked the end of the recently discontinued VTA Light Rail line serving Almaden. There's already a community push to bring back the "Ohlone spur."
Where to go: Chic’s Picks
Almaden Lake Regional Park – Visitors to this local gem enjoy hiking, jogging, and cycling along 30 acres of lake and 65 acres of land. Others partake in a family or company picnic and play volleyball, horseshoes, and bocce ball. The park also serves as a connecting point for the Los Alamitos Creek Trail and the Guadalupe River Park Trail.
Westfield Oakridge – Catch a movie at Century Theaters, grab a pizookie at BJ’s, get your style on at H&M, or pick up household necessities and more at Target. Whatever you’re looking for, this retail and entertainment hub has you covered. (And there’s an In-N-Out right across the street!)
Golfland – Experience a whole new level of fun at Emerald Hills Golfland. Play your way through one of the challenging mini-golf courses, cruise the huge video game arcade, crush the snack bar, then hit the waterslides!
WHERE TO EAT, DRINK & HANG
Britannia Arms Almaden – The “Brit” is the place to go for local music, karaoke contests, live sporting events, and of course, deliciously greasy pub food and plenty of quality beers on tap. And if you want to catch a European football game over fish and chips, Saturday mornings are like a ritual here.
Poki Bowl – People think that poke is just a trend. But poke has been a Hawaiian tradition for thousands of years. Poki Bowl first brought their spin on the tradition to San José in 2015, and they’ve been expanding across the state ever since. Enjoy a bowl at the original location on Almaden Expressway.
Almaden Ranch – This 350,000 sqft development is the newest destination retail center in the San José metro area, drawing customers from all over the Bay Area. Anchored by Bass Pro Shops, Total Wine & More, and Guitar Center, Almaden Ranch also features eateries like The Habit Burger, MOD Pizza, and SmokeEaters.
